Certified raw material
German 1.4021 / 1.4034 stainless steel and ISO 5832-2 titanium, with material certificates and batch traceability.
Hand-finished precision
CNC-shaped bodies are ground, adjusted and tested by master craftsmen. The jaw closure of every instrument is checked individually.

Raw material & forging
Certified steel is hot-forged in instrument-specific dies, aligning the grain structure for strength.

CNC machining
Jaw, serration and joint geometry are machined to micron tolerances on 5-axis machines.

Heat treatment
Hardening and tempering in vacuum furnaces; every batch passes a hardness (HRC) test.

Hand finishing & assembly
Grinding, adjustment and closure testing by master hands. This is where the instrument's feel is born.

Passivation & final control
Chemical passivation, laser marking and a 100% functional check before packaging.

Where are Safir surgical instruments manufactured?
All Safir surgical hand instruments are manufactured in our own facility in Antalya. All processes, including forging, CNC machining, heat treatment, handcrafting, and passivation, are carried out under one roof; this allows every instrument to be traceable back to its raw material batch.
What materials are used in the instruments?
In standard instruments, German-origin 1.4021 and 1.4034 martensitic stainless steel is used, and in applications requiring microsurgery and non-magnetism, ISO 5832-2 pure titanium is used. A tungsten carbide (TC) tip option is offered for cutting edges.
Can instruments be sterilized in an autoclave?
Yes. All Safir instruments are suitable for 134 °C steam sterilization and have been tested for over 3,000 cycles. Thorough drying of instruments after sterilization and storing articulated instruments in an open position extends their lifespan.
Do you provide sharpening and maintenance services?
Yes. We offer sharpening, joint adjustment, spring replacement, passivation, and surface refurbishment services for all Sapphire-branded instruments. Instruments are subjected to a functional test after service and delivered with a report.
Do you produce custom-designed instruments?
Yes, we do. We prepare prototypes based on the surgeon's technical drawing, sample, or description, and proceed to mass production after approval. Laser marking and custom set configuration can be done on behalf of the hospital or surgeon.

How long is the order and delivery time?
In-stock standard tools are shipped within 2-5 business days. For custom production and large set orders, the delivery time is typically 3-6 weeks; a precise date will be shared during the consultation phase.
